Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium funding was introduced by the Government in 2011-12. Heathermount School started receiving this funding in 2012/13.

Extra funding was made available to close the difference in attainment experienced historically by students from potentially disadvantaged backgrounds. In 2011-12, funding was given to the school for each student:

  • Eligible for free school means (from 2012-13, this was expanded to include any students eligible for free school meals at any time in the last six years)
  • In care continuously for six months or more
  • With a parent serving in the armed forces.

At Heathermount School, our priority is to ensure that all students, from all backgrounds, have an equal chance of success. Our Pupil Premium funding is used to target students with additional intervention and support according to their needs, in order to:

  • Address social, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Strengthen home/school relationship.
  • Develop academic progress.
  • Develop access to extra-curricular provision.
