Screen acting workshop

Alex advising two students on filming

We were delighted to welcome actor Alexander Cobb to school on Friday.  Alex led an assembly on careers in the performing arts and ran a practical acting-for-screen workshop for students.

In assembly, secondary students enjoyed learning about the different jobs available and hearing about Alex's own journey into acting.

Students engaged extremely well with the hands-on workshop and learnt how a film set ran.  They took on a variety of roles, from working the camera and operating the lights and sound, to dressing the set and designing the costumes.  Then, they had a go at acting out some scenes from Harry Potter!

Alex trained at RADA, alongside Cynthia Erivo, and has appeared in a wealth of TV programmes and theatre shows in the West End. You may have seen him in Moon Knight, Towards Zero or Grace.   He has worked with some prestigious actors such as Ralph Fiennes and Benedict Cumberbatch.

We are hugely grateful to Alex for providing our students with such an incredible opportunity.
