Official opening of our fishing pond!

Koen Claeys, Managing Director of Cavendish, cutting the ribbon to officially open our fishing pond

We were delighted to celebrate the o-fish-al opening of our Fishing Pond, a fantastic outdoor learning resource that provides students with a beautiful space to spend time in nature while developing new skills.

The pond offers the opportunity for students to engage in a mindful activity outdoors and try fishing.  For some it may become the start of a lifelong hobby.

Today, we held a small opening ceremony where Koen Claeys, Managing Director at Cavendish Education, officially opened the pond and cut the ribbon. It was wonderful to see the whole school community get together to mark this special moment.

Seven students enjoyed fishing during the event and demonstrated the pond in action, successfully catching Bream and Tench.

We are incredibly grateful to Craig and Andy from our site team for all their hard work creating the pond, installing 'The Stewart Cabin' (our new outdoor classroom) and making it such an amazing space.  Thanks also go to Megan for her wonderful fishy artwork on the sign.  Craig masterminded the conversion of the area and both men have been instrumental in supporting students in learning how to fish.

We are enormously proud of this new space and look forward to seeing our students enjoy the pond for years to come.
