Fulham FC Respect League

The two Respect trophies won by Heathermount students

Our secondary students enjoyed taking part in the Respect League tournament at Fulham FC. The final trip was on Monday and with all still to play for, the students were really looking forward to the event.

Key Stage 4 students gave a solid performance throughout the day, finishing in 3rd place.  They were awarded the respect trophy for their exceptional attitude, sportsmanship and behaviour. The students have been phenomenal throughout the year, and we look forward to attending again next season.

Our Key Stage 3 teams also displayed some excellent attitude and behaviour throughout.  With our League team finishing 3rd and our Championship team finishing 2nd in the final game – missing out on the top spot by only 2 points!  Like the Key Stage 4 group, our Championship team finished top of the respect points and brought home another trophy for Heathermount.

All the Key Stage 3 and 4 students who took part in the tournament were lucky enough to attend a mental health workshop followed by a tour of Craven Cottage.  The students were amazing on the trip and the staff were thoroughly impressed by their attitude and engagement throughout. The workshop gave advice on how to recognise the signs of mental health and what we can all do to support each other. Staff were thoroughly impressed by the students' answers and with those students who shared some of their own stories with others.

The tour of the grounds was a real highlight. It allowed our students access to the dugout, changing rooms, trophy cabinet and the media section. We are very grateful to Fulham for all their help and the opportunities they have provided.   Thank you Fulham FC!
