Junior Music Festival

Nine talented students from Oak Class and Elm Class attended the spectacular Junior Music Festival at the Hexagon Theatre in Reading.
Our pupils joined forces with children from various schools across Bracknell, Windsor, and Maidenhead, creating a massive choir of over 500 children singing together. The festival itself spanned five concerts over five nights, and our school was thrilled to take part in the Thursday evening performance, which drew a large and enthusiastic crowd of spectators.
The day was packed with excitement, starting with an intensive rehearsal in the afternoon where the children practised singing beautifully in both unison and two parts, all while carefully coordinating with the event's narrators. After working up a big appetite during their practice session, the group enjoyed a well-deserved trip to McDonald's for dinner to refuel for the main event. It turned out to be a late night, but the energy remained high as they returned to the theatre for the grand evening performance, where many proud parents came along to watch them shine on stage.

This year's musical theme was "Making Waves," featuring a fantastic selection of ocean-inspired songs that the children performed flawlessly. The set list included beloved favourites such as "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid, Moana's "How Far I'll Go," "Big Bad Lad of the Ocean," and the atmospheric "Night Migration." The incredible concert concluded with a roaring encore consisting of "The Sea Shanty Medley" and a final, joyful rendition of "How Far I'll Go" that had the whole audience cheering.
All the children had a wonderful time and represented our school amazingly well throughout the entire experience. The accompanying adults were so proud of the students and the exemplary way they behaved during such a long and demanding day. A huge thank-you goes out to the adults who supported and chaperoned the students at this event, and a massive well done to all the students who took part—you were absolutely amazing!
