Huge Refurbishment

Families and visitors returning at the start of term will have noticed a real change! Not only has our logo and branding been refreshed to align more closely with Cavendish Education, but over the summer we have also undertaken a huge programme of improvement and refurbishment.

The main house has been completely refreshed. All the walls have been painted, the flooring has been replaced, the lighting has been improved, additional storage has been created, and the bathrooms have been fully overhauled.

Two new flexible learning spaces have been created giving us greater scope to offer a wider range of subject options for our students and our catering provision has been transformed.  There is now a spacious purpose-built catering classroom within the modular building, complete with induction hobs and individual work stations, providing students with a great space to work towards their qualifications and develop life skills.

To enhance the lunchtime experience, a new servery has been created in what was the Headteacher’s Office which has created additional space for food service and allows more room in the Garden Room for students to eat.

It has been a huge undertaking, but the results are fantastic.

A huge thank you to our site, IT and school business teams, as well as all the contractors, who have worked incredibly hard over the summer to make this transformation happen. It has been great to see the excitement of students (and staff) on their return to school.

We are still busy working through the final touches, populating noticeboards, adding pictures and personalising the spaces to make them feel more like Heathermount, but we are delighted with the progress so far and look forward to seeing the school continue to come to life throughout the term.
