Celebrating World Book Day

This year’s World Book Day was a fantastic celebration of literature, creativity, and imagination for our students (and staff!). From dressing up as their favourite characters to taking part in exciting activities throughout the day, they truly embraced the joy of reading.

Lower School

All the students took part in lots of fun reading-based activities.  Our Foundation classes learnt all about Goldilocks and the three bears and even made their own bears!

Elm and Beech class had a fantastic trip to see the Terrible Tudors Horrible Histories show at Woking Theatre.

Secondary

Throughout the day, secondary students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in books in every lesson, dedicating time to reading and discussing literature. They also tested their book knowledge in a fun and challenging emoji quiz, where they had to guess the book titles from a series of cleverly arranged emojis. Another highlight was the secret book challenge, where students solved riddles to uncover a hidden literary treasure!

Adding to the excitement, some of our students had the incredible opportunity to visit the Harry Potter Studio Tour on Monday. The trip was a magical experience, bringing the world of J.K. Rowling’s beloved series to life. Students soared through the skies on broomsticks using green screen technology, explored the famous Knight Bus, and wandered through the enchanting greenhouse. One of the most breathtaking moments was stepping inside Gringotts Bank and strolling down the cobbled streets of Diagon Alley. The tour concluded with an awe-inspiring view of the Hogwarts Castle model, but not before a dramatic encounter with a fiery dragon!
