The construction students have had a very busy first term!

The students have all used carpentry skills using traditional hand tools to complete their first assessment - making a wooden frame.  As per usual, the construction students were not happy with making just a simple frame, they came up with the idea of making a side table! I’m very excited to see the outcomes! 

Attending SATRO’s ConstructionFest was the highlight of the term, the students attended SATRO’s annual ConstructionFest.  This is an annual event, a construction careers fair with motivational speakers and links to apprenticeships and potential employers in the industry.  Both students and staff were blown away at the variety of opportunities for employment in the construction industry. 

The students were outstanding and positively represented Heathermount. The supporting staff received many compliments on how polite and well-mannered the students were.
