Science Week 2026

Last week we celebrated Science Week. The theme was Curiosity: What’s your question? The students had a wonderful time thinking about what they were curious about and what they wanted to know more about. They got stuck into all the activities!
Activities included a mix of creating posters, making the rainbow using neutralisation and universal indicator, elephant’s toothpaste, flames tests and making use of the Reuben’s Tube to visualise sound waves of different songs.
Mars, Mercury and Saturn classes worked hard on creating their own Science Show and performing it to some of the younger students, who had the opportunity to come up to the Science room in secondary and see some fun Science in action. The students created their own scripts and Mars even created a backdrop in their art lessons.

To wrap up the week, we finished off with a visit from Lakshya, an Aerospace Engineer, who spoke to the students all about space and what it is like to visit space. There were two separate assemblies given by Space Store, one for Primary and one for Secondary. The students were able to ask our visitor any questions they had, and we even managed to get two teachers, Pete and Niru, into a replica space suit!
