Open to all students, the qualification has proved particularly popular with our female students, providing them with an engaging pathway to explore careers in education, childcare, health and social care, and related professions. The course helps students develop a deeper understanding of children's growth, development, wellbeing and care needs, whilst building valuable life skills such as communication, empathy and responsibility.

Students complete a combination of written coursework and practical activities, allowing them to apply their learning in meaningful and engaging ways. A particular strength of the qualification is the opportunity for students to work with and observe our own Foundation Phase children, giving them first-hand experience of supporting young learners and putting newly acquired skills into practice. By the end of the course, students leave with a nationally recognised qualification, increased confidence, practical childcare knowledge, and a strong foundation for further study or future careers working with children and young people.
