Heathermount is celebrating the World Cup

The World Cup is one of the biggest sporting events in the world rivalled by only the Olympics. It brings 32 nations together in what promises to be an event filled with entertainment, controversy, passion, charisma, broken hearts and ultimately champions. Players from 32 nations carry the hope and expectation of their fellow countrymen.

Here at Heathermount it is no different. We have come together eagerly waiting in anticipation for the start of the World Cup. We have our very own World Cup display complete with a wall chart, a key player from each of the 32 nations in Top Trump card form and a picture with the official World Cup ball and the Jules Rimet trophy together. Some students will be doing a project in their PSHE lesson based on one nation each. The project will consist of finding out about the country’s culture, heritage, government, food, beliefs etc. We hope our projects are a success much like we hope for England’s World Cup campaign. This celebration has been coordinated brilliantly by Andrew Stoker one of Heathermount's Teaching Assisstants.
