School Council

Student Voice

At Heathermount School, our students play an active role in their education, community, and environment. To support this, we have a Primary and Secondary School Council who represent their peers’ views, ideas, and concerns. The student voice is an essential tool to help develop the school.

Aims of the School Council

  • To uphold the values of the school (Positive, respect, resilience, independence, courage and responsible)

  • To gather student views and present them at School Council meetings which will be shared with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)

  • To help identify areas in which improvements can be made to benefit the school

  • To contribute to the curriculum

  • To help raise issues that are of concern such as bullying

  • To develop leadership and social skills
